Signage in Cities

A research project using photography as a tool to compare different cities and neighborhoods in the states of California, New York, and Rhode Island.

A comparison in how signage differs depending on the area it exists in and the targeted audience. The imagery talks about the relationships of pattern, color, shapes, and repetition. When the subject matter was photographed out of context, it was as if they were taken out of reality. The feel of the 3 states, as well as the specific cities within these states was to also be conveyed through the imagery.

The photographs were taken over the course of 3 months.
