"Nordfleisch"
Interpretation of Helmut Newton's Photographs
28" x 42"

Helmut Newton was a German-Australian fashion photographer noted for his nude studies of women. He wanted the presence of his models to be somewhat abstracted from the circumstances of the surroundings.

Although his work was often criticized and controverisal, he did what pleased him and lived within himself. He saw photography as a way of recreating a visual experience that the most ordinary things become aesthetic images.

I wanted the poster to express these ideas, as well as the directness and vulgarity of , yet the beauty he is able to portray through his photographs.
